Feng Shui – Best Bed Positions

By  Katie Hoffman

Do you often wake up in the morning with a heavy feeling of frustration, lack of motivation, or relationship anxieties? Consider how much of those negative emotions are a direct reflection of your bed location having to do with feng shui. We spend nearly one third of our lives in bed. Our mattresses absorb all of the stresses we bring home with us. It acts as a sponge to our everyday tensions.

Each night that we reenter the sheets of yesterday’s distress, we get the same jumbled energy all over again. Feng shui first suggests that we get rid of our old mattresses that are at least 7-8 years old or have just been with us through a significant sickness or breakup. If you are not able to throw away your mattress right away then you can soak it under direct sunlight for 8 hours while you circle sandalwood incense into the surrounding air. Do a salt burning session in the empty room before the mattress reenters. Clear the floor underneath your bed of any annoying work items or financial papers.

The idea is to free your air of any heavy dead weight that may be currently plaguing you so you can bring your life back into balance. You can do this simply by choosing good bed placement in feng shui that will allow you to utilize the natural flow of energy to help you achieve your current goals.

When you bring in your new mattress, make sure it is not in line with or next to the door. With your head next to the entrance of your room, you are unable to react to any visitors you may or may not have been expecting. With your bed lined up with the door, the chaotic energy from the hallway will work its way into your life. This may also make for a drain on your spirit as your energy has and outlet to pour loosely out of your body and down the hall. Feng shui bed and window placements are equally important to one another. Do not situate your bed between a door and a window because you will block the flow. Also, never have a window above the head of your bead. Off to the side will make for better sleep.

If you choose to put your head facing the East then you will feel like everyday is a new day. This is the best feng shui bed position because not all bed directions in feng shui will make you feel ambition, growth, and promote your career building as much as the Eastern bed placement. This is also ideal for young people who are still in school or have just graduated.

Bed directions in feng shui that have the head facing South East are also positive because they promote good communication, a more active life, and increased creativity.

South West facing beds will give you a sense of feeling settled and at peace in your relationship. If these are qualities you desire then this might be the bed location having to do with feng shui that suits you the best.

Beds facing the West will generate good sleep because you will feel contentment. You may also find yourself in great romantic situations. Your income will be plentiful. The downside is that you will get overly lazy and feel a low motivation if you sleep this way for too long.

The last good one of the feng shui bed positions is a North West facing mattress because it will give you a feeling of being in control. Your sleep will be longer and deeper. Parents, who are good at playing the authority role, feel the best when they sleep facing North West.

Avoid aiming your bed to the North because many people call this the “death position”. There is an overwhelming silent sense to this direction that many active people find too quiet. Older people who seek tranquility and spirit sometimes find comfort facing this way.

North East will make you feel on edge and increase how vivid any nightmares you were having appear to be. This direction has too many sharp and piercing emotions related to it to be a good bed placement in feng shui.

If the bed placement in feng shui is pointed to the South then you will hardly ever get a sound sleep. There is too much high energy and negative fiery. Many people in this situation find themselves in the middle of heated arguments in their relationships that rarely end up positive.

You only need to identify what lingering issues you have and what kind of positive energy could remedy your pains, before you can use different bed locations having to do with feng shui to bring balance back to your life.
