Feng Shui Bedroom Layout
The bedroom is one of the
most important rooms in the house when it comes to your
health. Even so, creating the right environment is often
overlooked. It’s important to make sure that you can rest
easily and healthily in your bedroom and having the right
feng shui bedroom layout is part of this. Here are some tips
for creating the perfect feng shui bedroom.
1. Color is a major part of creating a feng shui layout in
any room and the bedroom is no exception. As a general rule
you should avoid loud and overstated colors and instead go
for colors that will help you to relax. White and light blue
can be a good combination for this. In feng shui the act of
sleeping is considered to be a yin process which means that
you need to have colors that allow you to stay calm.
2. The position of your bed
is also important when creating a feng shui bedroom layout.
You should be able to see the door of the bedroom from your
place of sleep. This helps you to feel secure. You should
also make sure that the headrest of the bed is placed
against a solid wall i.e. with no windows. Many people who
don’t have an understanding of feng shui do this anyway as
it creates an extra sense of security.
3. The bed also shouldn’t
be placed underneath any sort of ceiling feature. Instead,
it should always be underneath a clear piece of ceiling.
Sometimes it may not be possible to combine this with point
number two.
4. If you have a double bed
then the sides shouldn’t be placed against the wall as this
can make it difficult for both people to get in and out.
Instead the bed should be aligned so there is space either
side.
5. The bathroom door (if
you have an en-suite) should be shut all the time to stop
any flow of chi.
6. A common mistake that
many people make is having TVs and other items within the
bedroom that serve as a distraction. If at all possible your
bedroom should only be used for relaxing and sleeping. If it
becomes an entertainment area then it’s much more difficult
to relax.
7. It might sound obvious
but cleaning and tidying your bedroom regularly is important
for feng shui. Although this isn’t strictly a layout concern
it can make a big difference. Feng shui states that any mess
in the room can affect the flow of chi – the body’s life
force – which in turn will affect sleep patterns and
relaxation.
The bedroom is where you spend a lot of your time both
sleeping and relaxing. If it isn’t setup correctly or
contains a lot of clutter then this will affect your ability
to sleep deeply which is important for the body’s overall
health. Having the right feng shui bedroom layout can go a
long way to ensuring that your bedroom is the relaxing haven
that you need.
I wish you all the best on your
